Hi! *swats cobwebs away*
My goodness. I've been very neglectful of this space, haven't I? Yeah, I was on Ramadhan break, then Eid happened along with some family stuff that I had to do. Oh what the heck, those are just excuses, right? If I had really wanted to blog/write, I would have done so. Instead of wasting words tweeting and stuff, I could have finished my ONE of my WiP.
Honestly, I don't know how some authors constantly post on and update all their social media. Do they do it themselves or outsource the work to someone? 'Cause, you know, it takes time to tweet, or snap a pretty picture for IG, update a status on FB, record a video story, reply to people who are nice enough to support and respond to you, etc. And oh, you can be sure that there WILL be hours lost going through other people's pictures and posts when one could/should be writing or doing something else. Sure, there are services that allow us to schedule selected articles and stuff, but I think people basically prefer a personal observation or quip from the author. It's the interaction that thrills people. And it takes quite a bit of discipline and determination to do that, on top of everything else that 24 hours allow us to do.
So, I've decided that I need to take a break from social media (particularly twitter) for the next 6 months and just finish one (or hopefully two WiP). I need to get my priorities right again. I need to channel my creativity in ways that matter to me. I need to see a quality product, and not just goof around. I will check in my Goodreads page, my Amazon page, and this blog every now and then, and anyone who needs to be in contact can do so through these sites and Twitter too. It may take me a few days to get back to you, but I'll get to it. I need to get back to work, y'all.
In the meantime, I want to thank *again* people who've read SHROUD, people who are about to read SHROUD and leave a kind review (ahem), and people who've befriended me on Twitter, and directly or indirectly supported my adventures in fiction-writing. I really appreciate you all, and I hope to spin more tales for your entertainment in the future. Thanks a million.
See you soon in another blog post.
