As in, how many of your goals have you achieved this year?
I confess, I'm not one who sets New Year's resolutions. I know myself too well, and I don't want to end up being disappointed. Yeah, I'm the type that beats myself up sometimes if I don't achieve what I set out to do. So instead of listing stuff, I just tell myself "hey, I'm gonna try get this done by today/this week/this month."
And I'm happy to report that despite feeling often blurry and unmotivated this year, I've actually reached quite a few of my goals. They are mostly too personal to note down here, but here's one that's okay to share: I managed to get certified in a major Psychology course taught in Yale, and it is a HUGE satisfaction for me. I learned a lot about myself and society through it, and although I found myself a little challenged at times (it's been years since I was in grad school), I don't regret spending the time, money and brain power on it. Good job, Marisa, here's a Porsche for you haha.
No really, I'm quite proud of myself. And very thankful.
Are there goals I haven't achieved yet? Yup. This current WiP. Time's running out; it's already November. But this deadline is self-imposed, and I could move it forward if I really wished.
I'd really love to be done. And since it's NanoWriMo, I hope my muse kicks my butt and sends me rocketing to the finish line. It would be really good to end 2020 that way. And, it would be even better if I could finish the non-fiction thingy that's been on my mind a lot lately.
One thing's for certain, you'll definitely know if I meet these goals. Coz I'll be tootin' my own horn, chile!
